Federal Corporation Tax Rates – Upcoming reductions 12/31/2010 The New Year will bring about a reduction in the federal income tax rate from 18% to 16.5% effective January 1, 2011.

The New Year will bring about a reduction in the federal income tax rate from 18% to 16.5% effective January 1, 2011. The 16.5% rate is applicable on income in the followingcategories:

  • CCPC active business income ineligible for the Small Business Deduction (SBD);
  • CCPC income not from an active business;
  • Manufacturing and processing (M&P) income; and,
  • Other non-M&P income earned by public corporations.

Note that for 2012, the 16.5% rate will be reduced to 15%.

The tax rate for CCPC’s claiming the SBD has not changed and remains at 11% effective since January 1, 2008.
