Biography

Andrée Guy has more than 30 years of professional experience in public accounting and corporate governance. Between 1983 and 1990, she obtained her Chartered Accountant designation, created her own firm, merged and operated under the name Lamarre & Guy, and then participated in the creation of Guy Laverdière Parent Lamarre. In 1997, she joined PSB Boisjoli as a partner. Since December 2017, she holds the role of Senior Advisor at the firm.

Andrée is specialized in auditing financial statements.  Over the years, she has served a prestigious clientele including major portfolio management and mutual fund corporations, manufacturing and service companies as well as several non-profit organizations including professional orders, foundations, as well as charities.

Over the course of her career, Andrée has developed an expertise in forensic accounting, internal control and internal audit. She has conducted several forensic investigations on behalf of professional orders looking into regulatory violations and member fraud. She also participated in arbitration processes in shareholder disputes, acted as an expert advisor to lawyers and was recognized as an expert witness before courts and disciplinary committees.

Throughout her career, she has worked to develop in-depth expertise in internal controls. She has performed numerous internal control and auditing mandates para-governmental agencies, private corporations and non-profit organizations.

Corporate governance is of great interest to this professional.  Her extensive knowledge in this area benefits the firm and the boards of directors on which she sits.  Major Canadian insurance companies benefit from her services.

Since the beginning of her career, Andrée has shown a deep interest in helping disadvantaged children, struggling youngs, elderly people and for humanitarian aid in the world.  She found her way by actively participating on the Board of Directors of the Jules & Paul-Emile Léger Foundation.

Over the years, she has received multiple awards and honours for her professional achievements and community involvement. She was also the first female chartered accountant to receive the title of Fellow of the Ordre des Administrateurs agréés du Québec (F.Adm.A.).

In 2017, Andrée was honoured with the prestigious title of Fellow of the Ordre des Comptables professionnels agréés du Québec (FCPA, FCA). The distinction recognizes her outstanding professional accomplishments and her remarkable dedication throughout her career, which have both brought great honor to the profession.
