Biography

Etienne Bisson is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with a Master’s degree in Tax Law (LL.M. Fisc). He has extensive experience in accounting and taxation and possesses in-depth expertise in various corporate structures. Known for his rigorous approach and commitment to professional excellence, Etienne has contributed to numerous complex projects, helping clients successfully navigate accounting and tax challenges.

In addition to his tax expertise, Etienne is actively involved in our technology committee, where he works to enhance our tax processes through the strategic use of technology. His efforts help clients better manage risks and seize opportunities in a timely manner.

Etienne is also dedicated to mentoring the next generation of tax professionals in the Montreal community. He serves as a lecturer at HEC Montréal in the Master’s in Tax Law program, teaching key concepts such as capital gains, business income, corporate-shareholder relationships, corporate and shareholder tax rates, paid-up capital manipulations, the use of the capital dividend account, and partnerships in tax planning.

Furthermore, he is a teaching facilitator with CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program, where he supports professionals in their continuing tax education. He also delivers an annual course on real estate taxation for individuals through the Association de planification fiscale et financière (APFF).

Beyond his academic contributions, Etienne is a speaker at various organizations, including APFF, CTEQ, WK, and others.
