Biography
Hugo joined PSB BOISJOLI as a Principal in the Restructuring and Insolvency Department on September 30, 2024.
With over 30 years of experience in restructuring, primarily at international firms, Hugo specializes in the mid-market sector and focuses on privately held, owner-managed companies. Passionate about building strong client relationships, Hugo is committed to helping businesses recover and thrive. His goal is to create survivors.
After graduating from HEC in 1994, Hugo began his career in Audit. His transition to Restructuring and Insolvency came when the department required an extra hand for a mandate. That assignment turned into a high-stakes, time-sensitive operation, where he found himself involved in a police-escorted operation to break down a door—an experience he describes as “one of the most exciting 12 hours of my career.” From that moment, he was hooked on restructuring and never looked back.
Hugo’s expertise and steady demeanor make him a valuable guide for navigating the complexities of corporate restructuring. He is driven by the constant challenges of the field, where quick decision-making and adaptability are essential. Thriving in dynamic environments, Hugo excels at responding swiftly and strategically to evolving situations.
Hugo brings to PSB BOISJOLI extensive expertise in interim management, working capital optimization, pre-financing diagnostics, distressed financing, and insolvency procedures. He has worked with small to medium-sized businesses across a variety of industries, delivering results and guiding clients through complex financial difficulties.
