Career Path and Expertise
Kristina Ashqar began her journey with PSB BOISJOLI as an intern in 2005. She quickly rose up the ranks of the firm’s Audit and Assurance Division. From the beginning, she established herself as a gifted supervisor with strong professional competencies, and an impressive ability to manage mandates.
Kristina was promoted to a manager position in 2012 and she was admitted to the partnership in 2019. Within the scope of her current responsibilities, she handles the accounts of several of the firm’s major clients, ensuring audit, assurance, and taxation services for companies from a diverse range of sectors. She also plays a key role in the supervision of over 20 members of the audit team.
Since 2012, Kristina has managed one of the largest Canadian private portfolio managers and this company’s closed-end mutual fund trusts, with assets under management of several billion dollars. Her areas of expertise include audit and assurance, in addition to preparing financial statements in compliance with both International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE).
Kristina plays a leading role on the firm’s Audit and Assurance and Recruitment Committees. Actively committed to the profession and all aspects of recruitment, Kristina has earned recognition as an essential leader for PSB BOISJOLI.
